The Focke-Wulf Ta 152, designed by Kurt Tank, was the ultimate evolution of the Fw 190. First flown in 1944 and introduced in January 1945, this high-altitude interceptor reached a blistering top speed of 472 mph. Featuring exceptionally long wings for thin air performance and a pressurized cockpit, it could outpace and outmaneuver almost any Allied fighter. Despite its technical superiority and heavy armament, only about 43 units were produced before the war ended, rendering it a legendary but
