A brief glimpse inside the engine compartment of class 45 (45133).This locomotive was built at Derby Works in 1961.It is fitted with a 12 cylinder Sulzer diesel engine developing 2500 horsepower. The engine is coupled to a Crompton Parkinson main generator, which in turn powers Crompton Parkinson traction motors on 6 driving axles. It is owned by the Class 45/1 Preservation Society and is based at Swanwick station on the Midland Railway heritage railway. #sulzer
